Granby is a small village in the Vale of Belvoir. It has a population of about 300 people, and is situated about 14 miles east of Nottingham.
The parish church of All Saints is 12th century.
There is no longer a school in Granby. In its place is the village hall.
There are two pubs in the village. The Marquis of Granby (possibly the original of that name) serves a wide range of real ales and has won many awards for the quality of its beer. The Boot and Shoe also serves ales and lagers.
A new event will be starting in 2009, aimed at introducing a family event for villagers and visitors. There will be the usual mix of stalls, competitions, music and dancing along with a real ale beer tent. It is hoped the event will be held annually and will be known as the Granby and Sutton Summer Solstice Weekend.
