As a general rule the children do their Maths, English, PE, French and Violin lessons in the morning. The remaining subjects take place in the afternoon, followed by assembly. A copy of our timetable is available on request but is, of course, subject to change at any time in order to allow us to be spontaneous. We wish to have the flexibility to maximise opportunities as they arise, for example, on our walk to the library van we may decide to carry out topic-related map work, thereby extending the amount of time spent out in the community.
A typical day at the school looks like this:
8.45am Arrival - Spelling practice - change for PE
9.05am PE
9.35am Milk & fruit break
9.45am English
10.40am Break
11.00am Maths
12.00pm Lunch
1.15pm Art
2.00pm Break
2.15pm Art
3.00pm Creative opportunities & Reading
3.30pm Assembly
3.45pm Home
We take full advantage of the local environment and have regular rambles and walks. On one of these occasions, the activities for the afternoon may include:
1.15pm Village walk to St Mary's Church (eg. RE focus)
3.00pm Creative opportunities & Reading
3.30pm Assembly
3.45pm Home
