Colston Bassett Preparatory School Crest
The School Crest was designed by Dan Miller ...
- Dan designed the shield which is divided vertically into blue and gold to reflect the colours that have been chosen for the School uniform. Within the shield, the letters C and B literally stand for Colston Bassett.
- The supporters either side of the shield – the white owls, representing “wisdom” have been recreated and hand-drawn by Dan. The image originally alludes to one of the three white owls featured on the family crest of the Le Marchant baronets of Chobham, whose descendents live in Colston Bassett today. They have very kindly given their permission for the School to reproduce the image.
- The owls are wreathed about the neck in the School colours.
- The scroll was hand-drawn by Dan and displays the School motto “Vitae Discimus” which means "We learn for life".
